Gotcha Day!!

I am only going to do a short post. Gotcha was a little tramatic for Addison. She pretty much screamed and cried for about an hour and half. I don't think it helped that we were shoved in a tiny room with forty families who were all waiting for and receiving their children. Most of the children were crying, one poor older girl was so stressed that she threw up. Thankfully Addison in calming down. She really hasn't cried since we came to the hotel. She seems developmentally on target and is very aware of what is going on. Her cleft is pretty severe, but we have faith the Drs. will be able to fix it without any problems. I will post pics tomorrow (later today for those in the US). Thank you all for the kind comments and prayers. Please keep them coming. I hope and pray Addison will bond with us very quickly.

  2. Hi A! It's Al, wishing you a safe trip home with your new baby girl! Can't wait to see pics, but glad she's settling into her momma's arms. I cannot even comment on Carol w/the squatty potty. Lots of love!

  3. Aww sorry sweet girl had such a rough time at first. I am sure once she realizes that you are a "nice lady" and only want to spoil the heck out of her she will be FINE.

I can't wait to see the pictures!

Hope things are calming down and you are getting to know each other!

How surreal does all this feel!? I can only imagine.

  6. Dear A, Addison, Grandma Carol, and Auntie Renee', I'm so glad that things are going so well. It won't be long at all before Addison realizes that you are the "real and true Mommy" she has been waiting for all this time. I'm sorry she was so upset for awhile, but I'm sure she has calmed down by now. Make sure you get all the sleep you can, while you can. :o) Is Addison with you from now on until you come back home? I know she will bond with you so quickly that it will be like she was always yours and Bob's. We have all of you on our prayer lists and PawPaw and I have been praying overtime that everything will be just perfect for the rest of Addison's life. She will have a wonderful family and family life from now on, with you, Bob, Nathan, and all the rest of the family and friends who already love her. Please give her a gently kiss and tell her that her Grandy and PawPaw O'Kelley love her very much and can't wait to meet her.

    Love, Bill and Tillie

  7. Congratulations, you have no idea how happy your family is for you all. I am laughing out loud at Aunt Carol on the potty! I know Addison will need some time to adjust, but I know she will soon realize what a truly blessed little girl she is. Our thoughts and prayers are will you all and Bob and Nathan. Take Care, we cannot get you all home soon enough! Lucinda, Jeff & Bobby
